Sorry, sold out!

It's Merely Huge!

Many in the wine industry would have you attaining your doctorate in order to properly match foods and wine, but we here at the Twisted Oak Institute couldn't care less what you pair this Petite Sirah with.  Live a little!  Get crazy!  Pour it on corn flakes, wash down a tuna on rye, try it without pants! We don't care!

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Massive aromas of cherries and blackberries, with touches of currants, violets, and anise - along with humongous jammy flavors of boysenberries, blueberries, and black currants - leading to a ginormous finish of semisweet chocolate! Petite? Snort!
Vineyard Notes
90% Petite Sirah, 10% Mourvedre from Tanner Vineyard
Food Pairing Notes
Steak and Eggs! any grilled meat, even SPAM! or bacon... mmmm, bacon... and of course french toast and custard donuts... mmmm, donuts... Or how about a big fat ribeye steak. And a sauce for that? Try a reduction with finely chopped shallots and carrot, a sprig’s worth of rosemary, and a little lavender or dried Herbs du Provence.

When I moved to Calaveras County 3+ years ago, Twisted's Petite Sirah was the the first I had tasted of that varietal. It immediately became my favorite! The deep color and rich aromas make it an absolute pleasure to hold - and then you drink it and it is velvety and delicious with a long finish. I can make it pair with almost anything!

First time we had this wine was in the Murphy's tastin room, and yes, my cuz and I did it with no pants just as the label suggested. Just ask the the ladies next time your there. We have been freaks ever since and the Petite Syrah has been a go-to fav. As suggested pairs with just about everything, even the corn flakes! Freakin awesome...
