Would you believe that the Albariño grape was named “The White Rhino” for its powers of virility? OK... then would you believe this wine was named for a poor farmer named Alberto Bariño who first cloned it in 1823? OK... then would you believe this crisp, spicy Spanish grape that you’ve never heard of is Damn Yummy and you should just Get Smart and enjoy it? Of course you would!

Tasting Notes
You people probably think it’s a piece of cake cranking out these amusing and pithy wine tasting notes don’t you? Well, it’s hell I tell you, and right now cake is about the furthest thing from my mind. Hmmm... you know, this Albarino might taste really good with cake, maybe a nice pear spice cake to go with the spicy peach and pear aromas, and Summery flavors of citrus and white peaches. Yes, I believe I will have cake.
Vineyard Notes
100% Albariño from Metate Hill Vineyard
Food Pairing Notes
Seafood and shellfish! Paella made with scallops, shrimp and other fishes would be a hit – the richness of these flavors would complement the crisp texture. And, of course, cake.
