93 points! "What a wine. It tries to intimidate. At first, by its bottle size and alcohol level, but in the glass this 100% Garnacha is like a purring kitten—well a purring 20-pound Maine Coon cat, joyous in its pretty red fruit, and its earthy, meaty, vanilla and cinnamon toast range of goodness. All lush, Twisted Oak’s Torcido is, like a retro soap opera, brave and beautiful." - Virginie Boone, Wine Enthusiast Magazine

Torcido (Tor-SEE-doh), [SP] adj., 1. Twisted,
2. Just like this gnarly Spanish clone Grenache...

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
You remember when you were a little kid, and there was this little store round the corner that had a nice man behind the counter who would sell you a big bag of the best candy for a nickel? We don’t either, no one is that old! But if we were that old, this wine might just remind us a little of those days, with aromas of cherries, vanilla creme and allspice; and flavors of zingy cherry and blackberries - maybe even that funny cinnamon candy you used to think was yucky - finishing with impressions of 10W30 oil. Whoops, I guess we wandered into the hardware department, but I think you get the idea...
Vineyard Notes
100% Grenache from the Colina Roja block, Twisted Oak - baby!
Food Pairing Notes
Tapas! spicy sausages and salamis - ham - game - pot roast - linguica sweet fruit sauces - even lamb and goat!

A great solid wine. I taste dark berries and a hint of vanilla. I served my bottle alongside my homemade spaghetti, crusty bread, and a big green salad.

One of your best, and their all pretty good! Just enough woody finish to balance it out,

Yummy - even better after a few hours to open. The Grenache is velvety smooth, yet rich - almost jammy. Great with hearty foods, steaks, meats, and red sauce pastas.
